Towards a realistic and responsible understanding of the value of evaluation.

EvalCost is an APROEVAL thematic working group focused on highlighting the true value of evaluation. It addresses the need to understand the resources, time, and tools required for a quality evaluation in order to plan and manage it realistically and effectively.

Objetives

The group promotes a more informed and responsible approach to evaluation costs. Its purpose is to realistically estimate budgets and workloads in order to highlight the costs that must be considered when conducting an evaluation and to counteract unrealistic (or unreasonable) expectations regarding the time and resources required to do so.

Work Methodology

EvalCost operates collaboratively, with regular meetings, defined phases, and coordination with the Secretariat and the Board. Progress is shared in open forums such as AfterEval events, where input from the community is gathered before final validation.

Evaluation Cost: Clarity on Timelines and Costs

As a result of its work, EvalCost has developed Evaluation Cost, a practical tool that facilitates clear and realistic discussions about expectations, resources, and the conditions necessary to conduct high-quality evaluations.
